Time is Precious

Thinking about the way I spend my time, I know...........

Precious is my relationship with the Lord, the time when I am growing closer to Him, being led by His Holy Spirit.

Precious is the time I spend loving, obeying, praying, praising and worshiping Christ.

Precious is the relationship I have with others, the time I spend loving others.

Worthless is what I make my time when my sin has disabled me from loving.

Worthless are the moments I give to empty pastimes.

Worthless is my time spent in selfishness.

Relationships are what truly matter in this short life that I am given. Living for God, serving Him, loving Him and loving others are the things which should be filling my every moment.

Far to easily, I get sidetracked with worthless pursuits. My time and interest can be so haphazardly directed toward some meaningless hobby or pastime.

Thankfully, these thoughts lead me to recommit my time, which creates this God-given life, to be used in precious ways and not worthless ways!

Matthew 22:37-39
And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’  This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ (NASB)
