There is A Garden

In my head there is a garden. It has very fertile soil and many thoughts grow in there, beautiful plants blooming with praise to my King, colorful petals of thanksgiving to the Holy One. Lovely thoughts have been planted in this garden, making it a delightful place.

But there are other things growing in my garden, ugly things. Ever so quickly, a thorny weed of judgement springs up. Its dark leaves overshadow many beautiful blossoms. Sadly, thoughts with spiky, twisting stems choke my flowers. Weeds seem to come out of nowhere and grow vigorously. Quickly, they pop up, weeds of fear, worry, anger, selfishness.......

Its a blessing to have the Lord gently teach me to dig down deep under those ugly weeds in my head, to uproot them as soon as they emerge and plant a flower of worship to my Savior Jesus in their place. Only Jesus can make my thoughts truly into a beautiful garden!

Philippians 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. (NASB) -I love this verse, it has saved me from being emerged in many ugly thoughts which find their way into my day all too often! -Thank you God and please help me to dwell on these things always!

God bless you with a glorious day and a garden full of gorgeous flowers!
